College English Association of Ohio

About CEAO

The College English Association of Ohio (CEAO) is the only statewide professional organization for college-level English departments. CEAO addresses current issues in composition and literature as well as political, economic, and professional development issues that affect both theory and practice in the English profession. CEAO is affiliated with the national College English Association (CEA), with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and with OCTELA.

CEAO benefits

Fall conference: Normally held in October, at a different host institution each year, the Fall conference offers its members an informal forum on departmental administration and program leadership in English departments at all colleges and universities in Ohio, including discussions on literature reviews.

Spring conference: Normally held in April, at a location in Columbus or elsewhere in central Ohio, the Spring conference offers its members a keynote address and breakout sessions, on a topic of interest to teachers of composition, literature, and creative writing. A different topic is selected each year. The Spring conference offers presenting opportunities for adjunct and junior faculty and graduate students, as well as for veteran faculty members.
